I’d like to welcome you to our new committee for 2008/09 – this is my second year as President; Sheryl M is in her second year as Vice President; Sandy C is our Secretary; Lynn T is our Treasurer; Belinda B is our Public Relations Officer; Linda D is our Membership Records Officer; Judy C is in her second year as Social Secretary Group A and joining her is Ian C as Deputy Social Secretary Group A. Glynn T has progressed to Social Secretary Group B from the Deputy role and joining him is Gordon B; Arthur W is our Newsletter Editor and was previously our Treasurer. Please join me in meeting the new committee at “The President’s Breakfast” on Sunday the 19th of October. For those of you I am yet to meet, I would like to share a little personal background – I am an identical twin to Maria (also a Dabbler); I just turned 40; I live in the eastern suburbs of Brisbane; I work for a mining company in Milton; I have been a Dabbler for 6 years, in 3 of which I have served on the committee and am now into my fourth year. Kathryn A J FROM THE VICE PRESIDENT The final chapter is going to be a long one but the best entitled ' The Year We Rocked at the Top'. The year to follow is definitely going to be a cracker. Things planned, things growing, things happening just around the corner and I'm going to be there. If this is what I know, then what's that say for the unknown to come. On a monthly basis the club has been bringing new friends to my life and with that I'm growing and learning more and living more. What brings that - Others!!!!! Others who care, live their own world but take the time out to share time with others because that's what we do. We want to do more, know more - rip the cracker open to find laughter and things to do. October is looking like a good month. Thank you to all that attended the AGM. Your support, interest and time is appreciated. With Christmas coming, you might like to be involved with this year party in December; if so contact me 3343-4056 to be another busy bee for Christmas. Spread your wings and feel the wind behind them. You are the only one who gives yourself the chance to live. It's like we give you the fortune cookie and what's to follow? You tell me. Isn't it in the doing that we find the answers to life. The breath of fresh air Dabblers offers makes very hour and day lived. Are you realising or finding the answers you need in life? Others can help like if you break the cookie and do the reading or lean on others to help. It is unknown to all where one can find their fortune until you put in the effort. Think about it. Sheryl M. FROM THE SOCIAL SECRETARY GROUP A Hi Fellow Dabblers Hello to all my Fellow Dabblers, and thank you to everyone who has sent in function write-ups. It has been great to have such a good response each month, and it is good to see such a full calendar. The last couple of months have been trying times for some. There has almost been a slowing down of sorts and it is quite noticeable when out in the clubs and other venues. Maybe recent stock market news, maybe petrol costs etc. who knows but it is quite comforting to know we are not alone in our plight of never seeming to have enough these days. Too often we focus on material wealth and not on being grateful for what we do have in our lives. Take care Until next month Judy C.
